YOUR TUITION

Darren Wilkinson Driving School provides a structured course of driving lessons tailored to each individual pupil

Everyone learns at different speeds and everyone is different, together we will work through the set lesson plans, making progress towards your test in a client friendly fashion so you are always in control of your own learning

LESSON OPTIONS

The time you spend driving is entirely up to you.  The lesson duration options are 1 hour, 1 & 1/2 hours or 2 hours.  The more lesson time you do per week the faster you will progress towards your test

For those who are wanting to pass their test a lot quicker I offer more of an intense driving course where we can do a few hours per day.  I will also provide help and guidance with the theory test and hazard perception test

Where Students Come First

I have been teaching locally for 26 years with the big 3 driving schools. I am an ‘A’ Grade Driving Instructor, this is the highest grade that can be achieved on a ‘standards’ check, gaining 49/51 score which puts me in the top 5% of instructors in the country. You can check out my stats on the DSA Website ‘Find your nearest Instructor’

The vehicle for your tuition will be a Volkswagen Golf 8 R-Line.

I am a patient, friendly instructor who will give the encouragement needed to become a confident and safe driver.  I have a passion for my job and would like to feel I am making a difference on our roads and contributing to road safety and will make sure I teach you safe driving for life and not just to pass a driving test.

10 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

1. Find a good instructor with a high check test grade and a good pass rate

2. The cheapest instructors are not always the best, they are cheap for a reason

3.  Recap is a very important part of learning to drive so do your homework and revision

4.  Have fun and don't lose your sense of humour

5.  Ask plenty of questions, there's no such thing as a stupid question

6.  Watch and observe other drivers as a passenger and take in your surroundings as if you were driving

7.  Keep your eyes moving whilst driving, do not stare at the road ahead, always take in the big picture

8.  Pull over to rest if you feel you are losing concentration, this also gives time to ask questions

9.  It can be a long and hard road sometimes learning to drive, but Rome wasn't built in a day, be patient

10.  Your driving test with an Examiner, it is not, it is a driving assessment with a nice person from the DSA
